Trip Introduction

Trekking to Everest Base camp is a dream to many. Everest Base Camp Trek is considered as one of the most popular trek that is to be considered in Nepal. The itinerary is prepared in such a way that guest can fulfill their dream of reaching to the foothills of the world’s highest mountain “Mount Everest”. However, since there are no any acclimatization days we would suggest you to train yourself by being used to some kind of regular exercise to keep yourself healthy and strong that will help you better acclimatize and adapt with the mountain environment.

Spring Season (March to May) and autumn season (October to December) are considered to be the best season for Everest Base Camp Trek. Day 01: Fly to Lukla (2840/ 9372 ft) and Trek to Phakding (2610 m/8613 ft) Flight: 30 minutes Trek: 3/4 hrs

Day 07: Morning Kalapathar (5550 m/18315 ft) and trek back to Pangboche (3930 m/12970 ft) Trek: 5/6 hrs

Day 08: Trek to Monjo (2850m/9405 ft) Trek: 4/5 hrs

TRIP INCLUDES:

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu-Lukla-Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft) (30-35 minute flight) 
Total duration: 4 hours

You will be escorted to the domestic terminal of Tribhuvan Airport by our staff early in the morning to board the flight to Lukla. After a 30-35 minutes flight you will land to Tenzing- Hillary Airport, Lukla from where your destination begins. You can enjoy the majestic view on your way to Lukla from Kathmandu if the weather is clear. You will be briefed by our guide regarding the trekking to Phakding. We will introduce you to the other trekkers during your breakfast. You will get some time to go see the village and local people while our porters sort out and load the trekking equipments. This walk is considered a short hike that will help you to acclimatize. After almost four hours of walk you will reach Phading. There are many beautiful monasteries to visit, beautiful Lukla village and a breathtaking terrain to view. There are many resting places and lodges in Phakding and you will be staying in one of these lodges tonight. 

Day 02: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft)
Total duration: 5-6 hours

Today, after having breakfast in Phakding, our trekking continues along the trails of Dudhkoshi River. This uphill trail crossing the exciting suspension bridge with prayer flags leads to Monju, the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. There are many teahouses, and shops on the way to Monju from Phakding for light refreshment. You will have to clear the entrance formalities to enter the National Park from where you will be walking down the steeped trails to Dudhkoshi River. After crossing another interesting suspension bridge, the uphill trail will lead you to Namche Bazaar-Gateway to Mt. Everest. You will find many good restaurants, hotels, lodges shops, money exchange, bakeries and teahouses as Namche is the biggest village along the whole Everest trail. Major attractions of this day are view of Mt. Kusum, Lhotse, Nuptse and a first Glimpse of Mt. Everest. You will stay in a guesthouse tonight.

Day 03: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,867m/12,684ft) 
Total duration: 5 hours

After breakfast, the trek for today will start.  Today we will follow the trails along the glacial water of Dudhkoshi up till the altitude of 3867m. You can enjoy the phenomenal view of the Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam during this walk. Enthralling Thamserku exist in the close vicinity of the trail along with the lush of the temperate vegetation including Rhododendron, Oak, Juniper etc. You can also get a glance of wild fauna like Himalayan Thar, Musk deer, snow leopard and different varieties of birds prevailing in that region. After reaching Tengboche; you will see the famous Tengboche Monastery decorated with beautiful Sherpa art and different beautiful wall hanging. You will spend this night in Tengboche. 

Day 04: Trek from Tengboche to Pheriche (4,210m/13,990ft)
Total duration: 5-6 hours

As usual, our journey begins after breakfast at Tengboche. The trail today passes through lush forests of birch and rhododendron trees. On the trail, you can experience the mesmerizing views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. The trail passes through several ups and downs. You will be passing through various terrains crossing the Imja River to Pangboche.

Day 05: Trek to Lobuche (4,928m/16,164ft)
Total duration: 5 hours

After the refreshment, today we will walk through the lateral trails of the Khumbu Khola valley to reach Dugla. During the trek, we will get to see the view of Mt. Pumori (7,138m/23,418ft) and Chola Lake. We will reach to Dugla after crossing a small bridge followed by a decent ascends. Here we will pass by some stone memorials of Sherpas climbers who perished on the Glacier of different peaks nearby. You will get to see other peaks like Mahalangur Himal, Khumbutse, and Lingtren from this point. After a gentle climb from Khumbu valley we will reach to Lobuche. You might find some breathing difficulties due to the altitude. We will spend the night in Lobuche.

Day 06:  Trek to Gorak Shep-Everest Base Camp- Gorak Shep (5,320/17,450EBC) / 5,160m/ 16,929) Gorekshep
Total duration: 7-8 hours

Today, the trek is going to be a bit difficult one as you will be trekking along the Khumbu Glacier to reach the Everest Base Camp. We will first trek to Gorak Shep and after having lunch there the uphill climb for Everest base camp begins which is the point from where you can see Mt. Everest at close proximity without any mountaineering equipment. After walking through the rocky trail you will reach to the Everest Base Camp (5,357m/17,575ft). You can see the splendid view of Khumbu valley from this point. We will return to Gorak Shep for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 07: Hike to Kala Pattar- Pangboche (5,550m/18,204ft Kala Pattar)
Total duration: 7-8 hours 
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

We will have to start our trek early today because this is the most tedious day of the entire trip. So you will have to start journey by climbing up to reach Kala Patthar (Black Rock at 5,545m/18,192ft.), that offers the best views of Mt. Everest. This is a very challenging ascent yet a very rewarding one as you will get to see the enthralling view of the Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori and Ama Dablam. We will spend some time here taking photographs before descending down to Gorak Shep and then trek down to Periche. We will stay at Pheriche tonight.

Day 08: Trek to Monjo (3,400m/11,283ft)
Total duration: 7-8 hours 
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Soon after the breakfast, today we will have to walk down the trail that leads to Monjo. It will be the steep downhill trail following the River. On the way through various points you might also see the glimpse of the Himalayan giants including Everest, Kwangde, Tawache, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kantega and Thamserkhu. It will be an easy walk slightly downhill towards the village Thame having a beautiful Khare Gompa. You can observe several monasteries on your walking that represent the High land culture. You will stop for a while at Namche then, begins your journey to Monjo for your overnight stay.

Day 09: Trek to Lukla (2,652m/8,700ft)
Total duration: 7-8 hours 
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Today is the final day of this trek, so shortly after the breakfast we will head towards Lukla from where your trek began. The trail drops down to Dudhkoshi and then we reach Monjo. We will have our lunch at Phakding and then continue to trek till we reach Lukla. You can spend your time with your team members roaming around market or can have some quality time with yourself enjoying your achievement that you made during past few days. You will spend this night at Lukla.

Day 10: Fly back to Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)
Meals included: Breakfast

Flight to and from Lukla are normally during the early hours as the weather might go unpredictably adverse during the later hours. After your breakfast, you will be taken to the airport by our guide and your luggage will be taken care of by the porters and local Sherpa’s. You will reach to Kathmandu after a 30 min of flying. You will be escorted to the respective hotel by our staff from the airport.
