Trip Introduction

Ghandruk Trek is the most popular trek of the Annapurna Region. This trek is relatively easy offering the beautiful view of mountains and the countryside. Ghandruk offers a very close view of the Annapurna and the view during sunset and sunrise is inexplicable. The village still preserves the traditional houses with stone roofs and the local village museum is worth exploring. 
 
The trek is considered to be an easy one except for few steeps ascend and descend and can be done throughout the year. Average walking is 4 to 6 hours, the highest point is only 2000 m and there is no risk of altitude sickness.

  • Nepal arrival visa (USD25 for 15 days and USD40 for 30 days in Cash) and international flights.

  • Your equipment and other expenses such as mineral water, soft beverages, confectionaries, laundries, phone calls, hot drinking water, bar bills, showers, internet facility, battery chargers, multi plugs, etc. 
  • Your travel insurance that covers Helicopter evacuation as well as medical expenses and trip cancellation.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival day (1,300m/4,264ft) 
Meals included: Dinner

Our airport representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu upon your arrival. He/she will escort you to the respective hotel in a private vehicle. Your prior trip meeting will be scheduled on the very day at the hotel before dinner. However, our airport representative will give you a brief idea about the second day’s schedule on your way to the hotel. During this meeting, we will introduce you to your leader/guide. Please do not hesitate to ask questions about your trek or anything that is related to your trip. To make you feel comfortable, we host a welcome dinner for you in a popular restaurant in the city where you can enjoy authentic Nepali meal along with cultural programs including ethnic dance and songs. Tonight will be spent at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing and trek preparation (1,300m/4,264ft) 
Total duration: 4-5 hours

After the breakfast, you will be visiting the different places in Kathmandu. There are many historic and cultural places that are of great significance in Kathmandu. You will get to see the major attractions of the city along with our professional guide and a private vehicle. The following are the major places that you will visit:

You will be visiting either Kathmandu Durbar Square or Patan Durbar Square, which has been listed in the UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. You can enjoy the age-old cultural heritage of the city. Boudhanath and Swayambhunath a sacred pilgrimage of the Buddhist and Pashupatinath the very famous Hindu temple e are the attraction of today’s sightseeing program. After sightseeing, you will be meeting us at our office for a prior trek meeting. You can go shopping in the evening at Thamel which is famous for useful tourist’s products. We will stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (8, 20m/2,690ft)
Total duration: 7 hours (Bus Ride) 
Meals included: Breakfast

Today our guide will pick you up from the hotel and will escort you to the bus stop to catch the early morning bus tourist coach to Pokhara. Your journey is going to be a very pleasant one along the Trisuli River up till Muglin.  Breakfast and lunch will be provided on the way to Pokhara. After almost 6 hours of a pleasant road travel, you will reach Pokhara, known as Valley of Lakes. Pokhara is the famous valley and probably among the most popular tourist's destinations of Nepal. Once you reach Pokhara, you can spend rest of your day exploring the city or Phewa Lake. The night will be spent at a tourist standard hotel in Pokhara.  

Day 04: Drive to Phedi & trek to Ghandruk (1,540m/5,052ft)
Total duration:2 hours of a Bus ride and 6-7 hours walk 
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Today, after breakfast, we will travel towards Phedi from where our trek begins. It takes 2 hours of bus ride to reach Nayapul. Our ultimate hike begins from Phedi taking the steep ascend to reach Dhampus. This is a beautiful hill from where we can see an eye-catching view of Pokhara valley along with the beautiful Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Walking along the ridge of Dhampus is very enjoyable. After crossing Modi River we will follow the steep trails for almost 5 hours to reach Ghandruk. We will stay overnight at Ghandruk.

Day 05: Explore Ghandruk (3,194m/1,0479ft) 
Total duration: 4-5 hours

Today we will be exploring Ghandruk. Ghandruk is basically a Gurung village. A large number of tourist visit Ghandruk every year. This village is widely known for the best views of the terrains and the mountain range. We can see the rows of slate-roofed houses ordered neatly in a cluster. This place is also popular for homestay. We can see the paddy and barley field in the well-terraced field in abundance. After exploring the village, the evening can be spent relaxing at a hotel in Ghandruk. 

Day 06: Ghandruk to Pothana (1,890m/6,200ft)
Total duration: 4-5 hours

Our Destination for today is Pothana. From Ghandruk we will head towards Bhaisekharka walking through the stone staircase. We will reach Pitam after a steep uphill climb. This place is the viewpoint of the Annapurna South and Hiu Chuli for one last time. The stone paved trails from here will lead us to Pothana where we will be staying overnight. 

Day 07: Pothana to Pokhara via Phedi (820m/2,690ft)
Total duration: 3 hours

Our trek for today is a short walk of around three hours. Today is the last day of our trek and we will head towards Pokhara. From Pothana we will walk towards Dhampus from where the trail drops down towards Phedi. It is an hour of drive from Phedi to Pokhara. We can spend the evening exploring the nightlife of the city with the crew members or can take rest. We will stay overnight at Pokhara. 

Day 08: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu, 7-8 hrs drive (1,300m/4,264 ft)
Total duration: 7-8 hrs drive 
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner 

We will return to Kathmandu from Pokhara on a tourist coach. After 7-8 hours of drive, we will finally reach Kathmandu from where our journey began. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be escorted to the hotel. You can freshen up and go shopping in the evening at Thamel which is famous for useful tourist’s products. Since today is your last day in Kathmandu, we host a farewell dinner where you can give your feedback regarding the services that we provided during the trip. We will stay overnight at the hotel. 

Day 09: Departure Day
Meals included: Breakfast 

This is the last day of your trip with us. You can extend your trip for one or two days to visit other interesting places in and out of Kathmandu which is completely optional. If not then one of our staff will escort you to the airport as per your scheduled departure. You can roam around the city and buy souvenirs’ or can go shopping to take along with you if your flight is scheduled during late hours.
