Trip Introduction

Royal Trek is also known as skyline trek and is among the short trek in the Annapurna Region. This trek is suited to those with short time and less or no trekking experience. You are not required to have a rigorous health condition as the maximum altitude to reach is 2629m/5344ft.The major attractions of this trek are the forests, beautifully terraced rice fields, small yet beautiful villages with amicable people and their culture/lifestyle. You can also savor the amazing view of Annapurna, Machhapuchre, and Dhaulagiri upon reaching Chisapani Dada.

Begnas and Rupa lakes await you to conclude the trek. You can enjoy exploring the lakes. This trek is basically a homestay trek so you will get to see the people and their culture in detail. This 9 day of Annapurna Royal trek also includes a day tour in Kathmandu valley. Since this trek is easily attainable, your children and elderly members of the family can also be included.

Trip Includes:

Trip Excludes:

  • Nepal arrival visa (USD25 for 15 days and USD40 for 30 days in Cash) and international flights.
  • Dinner and lunch in Kathmandu except for welcome and farewell dinner. 
  • Your equipment and other expenses such as mineral water, soft beverages, confectionaries, laundries, phone calls, hot drinking water, bar bills, showers, internet facility, battery chargers, multi plugs, etc. 
  • Your travel insurance that covers Helicopter evacuation as well as medical expenses and trip cancellation. 
  • Tips of a guide, porters, and driver as a token of appreciation. 
  • Monument entrance fee for a sightseeing tour in Kathmandu.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)
Meals included: Dinner

Our airport representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu upon your arrival. He/she will escort you to the respective hotel in a private vehicle. Your prior trip meeting will be scheduled on the very day at the hotel before dinner. However, our airport representative will give you a brief idea about the second day’s schedule on your way to the hotel. During this meeting, we will introduce you to your leader/guide. Please do not hesitate to ask questions about your trek or anything that is related to your trip. To make you feel comfortable, we host a welcome dinner for you in a popular restaurant in the city where you can enjoy authentic Nepali meal along with cultural programs including ethnic dance and songs. Tonight will be spent at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing and trek preparation (1,300m/4,264ft)
Total duration: 4-5 hours

After the breakfast, you will be visiting the different places in Kathmandu. There are many historic and cultural places that are of great significance in Kathmandu. You will get to see the major attractions of the city along with our professional guide and a private vehicle. The following are the major places that you will visit:

You will be visiting either Kathmandu Durbar Square or Patan Durbar Square, which has been listed in the UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. You can enjoy the age-old cultural heritage of the city. Boudhanath and Swayambhunath a sacred pilgrimage of the Buddhist and Pashupatinath the very famous Hindu temple e are the attraction of today’s sightseeing program. After sightseeing, you will be meeting us at our office for a prior trek meeting. You can go shopping in the evening at Thamel which is famous for useful tourist’s products. We will stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m/2690ft)
Total duration: 7 hours (Bus Ride)
Meals included: Breakfast

Today our guide will pick you up from the hotel and will escort you to the bus stop to catch the early morning bus tourist coach to Pokhara. Your journey is going to be a very pleasant one along the Trisuli River up till Muglin.  After almost 7 hours of a pleasant road travel, you will reach Pokhara, known as Valley of Lakes. Pokhara is the famous valley and probably among the most popular tourist's destinations of Nepal. Once you reach Pokhara, you can spend rest of your day exploring the city or Phewa Lake. The night will be spent at a tourist standard hotel in Pokhara.

Day 04: Trek to Kalikasthan (1370m/4494ft)
Total duration: 5-6 hours
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Today is the first day of our trek. We will trek to Kalikasthan from Pokhara. We will drive to Bijaypur from the city. Upon reaching there we will cross the river (Bijaypur River) to begin our trek. The trails are easy and ascend are gradual. We will walk pass Brahmins and Chettris residing villages’.Our journey will be followed by beautifully terraced rice fields. After few hours of walk, we will reach Kalikasthan. We can spend rest of the time exploring the peripheral areas. The night will be spent at Kalikasthan.

Day 05: Trek to Shaklung (1730m/5675ft)
Total duration: 5-6 hours
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Our destination for today is Shaklung. So we will begin our hike after breakfast. Our walk will be accompanied by beautiful forested area and terraced fields. After some time we will reach Thulakhet and then Mathithana. From here, we will reach Naudada after a short walk. The beautiful view of the valley can be seen from this place. From Naudada we will walk towards Lepiyani Village walking along the ridge. From here it is a short but tough uphill climb to reach Shaklung. Lamjung Himal and Annapurna are clearly visible from here. This night will be spent at Shaklung.

Day 06: Trek to Chisapani (2629m/5344ft)
Total duration: 5-6 hours
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Our destination for today is set for Chisapani. We will have to walk down the hills to reach the valley floor which is a popular resting point (Chautari) enjoying the beautiful forest and the Gurung settlement. We can spend some time here having light refreshment. This place is the point where the trail split into two. The eastern one leads us to Marsyangdi River and the western trails will take us to Begnas. We will follow the western trails. We will reach Chisapani after ascending for some time. We can hike up to Chisapani Danda. There is a temple at the top of the hill and a beautiful vista of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. We can explore the area in the evening. We will stay overnight at Chisapani.

Day 07: Trek to Begnas Lake and drive to Pokhara (1000m/3280ft)
Total duration: 5-6 hours
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Today is the last day of our trek. We will trek to Pokhara via Begnas. We will descend from Chisapani following the steep trails to reach a beautiful valley where we will cross the bridge over the small stream that is the catchment of Rupa Lake. After walking down the trails along the ridge we will reach Pokhara Valley. We will reach Begnas Lake. This lake is less crowded than Phewa Lake and famous for fishing and bird watching. One can go for a boat ride and explore the lake. We will then drive back to Pokhara and stay overnight there.

Day 08: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)
Total duration: 7-8 hrs drive
Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

We will return to Kathmandu from Pokhara on a tourist coach. After 7-8 hours of drive, we will finally reach Kathmandu from where our journey began. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be escorted to the hotel. You can freshen up and go shopping in the evening at Thamel which is famous for useful tourist’s products. Since today is your last day in Kathmandu, we host a farewell dinner where you can give your feedback regarding the services that we provided during the entire trip.We will stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 09: Departure day
Meals included: Breakfast

This is the last day of your trip with us. You can extend your trip for one or two days to visit other interesting places in and out of Kathmandu which is completely optional. If not then one of our staff will escort you to the airport as per your scheduled departure. You can roam around the city and buy souvenirs’ and do shopping to take along with you if your flight is scheduled during late hours.
