BEFORE TRAVEL Visa Information

All visitors other than Indian nationals are required to obtain a visa for entry into Nepal. There is a provision of an on-arrival tourist visa at Tribhuwan International Airport or at the immigration office of any entry/exit point. An on-arrival tourist visa is a multiple-entry visa and is available for 15, 30 and 90 days. While applying for the visa, a passport must be valid for at least six months and two passport-sized photos would be required. Visa may also be acquired from the Nepalese Embassy, Consulate or other diplomatic missions abroad before arrival, especially during peak seasons (October-November and April-May) to avoid long queues at the airport immigration.

Although Indian Nationals do not require a visa to enter Nepal, they are required to hold a passport or Voter’s card issued by the Election Commission of India with the photograph issued by Central or State government of India on arrival at any of the entry points.

Tourist Visa for Designated Nationals:

Tourist visa needs to be obtained before arrival from the Nepalese Embassy, Consulate or other diplomatic mission offices in the respective countries for nationals of Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan. 

Visa options and cost

➱ Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 15 days - USD 30 or equivalent foreign currency
➱ Tourist Visa with Multiple Entries for 30 days - USD 50 or equivalent foreign currency
➱ Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 90 days - USD 125 or equivalent foreign currency

Tourist Visa Extension:

Visas can also be extended following the policies of Nepal Government. Tourist visa extension is done for minimum 15 days with USD 45 and USD 3 per day for additional days. Tourist visas can be extended for a maximum period of 150 days in a year.
