Tsum Valley Trek is one of the most beautiful trek undertaken under the footlills of Mount Manaslu and Ganesh Himal. The region lies in the northern part of Gorkha district near the Tibetan border. Tsum valley trek comes under the unique trail that covers both the natural as well as the cultural assets of the country. The Manaslu region more specifically the area that covers the Tsum Valley Trek is mostly inhabited by people following Tibetan Buddhism. You will get to meet the most hospitable and welcoming environment at every places you go. Places to visit in Tsum Valley are including Dhephu Doma Nunnery Gompa, etc. Besides these places, there are many places from where you can view the beautiful vistas of Ganeh Himal, Sringi Himal etc.

Day 01:   Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and Transfer to hotel.
Meals included: Dinner

Our office representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu upon your arrival. He/she will escort you to the respective hotel in a private vehicle. Your prior trip meeting will be scheduled on the very day at the hotel before dinner. However, our airport representative will give you a brief idea about the second day’s schedule on your way to the hotel. During this meeting, we will introduce you to your leader/guide. Please do not hesitate to ask questions about your trek or anything that is related to your trip. To make you feel comfortable, we host a welcome dinner for you in a popular restaurant in the city where you can enjoy authentic Nepali meal along with cultural programs including ethnic dance and songs. Tonight will be spent at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Trek preparation and full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu
Meals included: Breakfast

After the breakfast at your hotel, you will be visiting four different heritage sites in Kathmandu. There are many historic and cultural places that are of great significance in Kathmandu. You will get to see the major attractions of the city along with our professional guide and a private vehicle. The following are the major places that you will visit:

You will be visiting Patan Durbar Square, which has been listed in the UNESCO’s World Heritage Site which is also an age-old cultural heritage site of the city. Furthermore, you will visit Boudhanath and Swayambhunath a sacred pilgrimage of the Buddhist and Pashupatinath, a very famous Hindu temple are the attraction of today’s sightseeing program. We will stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 03: Drive to Arughat (608m) and further drive to Soti Khola (700m)

Driving Hours: 10 hours approximately

After an early breakfast at the hotel, you will be proceeding for your journey to Arughat and to Sotikhola. Our trek guide shall meet you at the hotel’s lobby and together will proceed towards a local bus station that will transfer you to Arughat. While on the road, you get to experience different sides of Nepal as some great views of mountains, valleys and river gorges can be viewed from the comfort of a window seat. After around 7-8 hours of drive via Prithvi Highway, we will finally reach Arughat which is a small town and an entry point for Manaslu Trek.

After resting for a while, we shall further take a local transfer to Soti Khola inhabited by the Gurung and Magar ethnic groups of the valley. On the way great views of Shringri Himal can be viewed. We shall be staying at one of the local lodge owned by the local entrepreneurs for the night.

Day 04: Trek to Machha Khola (869m) 
Meals included: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Trekking Hours: 5-6 Hours

Today is technically the first day of trekking. We will start with a steady hike from Sotikhola passing through the small waterfall on the way towards the beautiful gurung village. We shall continue our hike towards the rocky trails until we reach Lapubesi a small village on the way. After resting for a while we shall follow the trails of Nauli Khola till we reach Machha Khola. On the way, we can get the glimpse of nprth east view of Ganesh Himal a mountain named after hindu Lord Ganesh. We shall stay overnight at a lodge in Machhakhola.

Day 05: Trek to Jagat (1340m)
Meals included: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Trekking Hours: 6-7 Hours

We shall start the trek through the zigzag trail crossing over the suspension bridge towards Khorlabesi a small village. Khorlabesi is also a great spot to view the mesmerizing view of Ganesh Himal. After resting for a while, we shall continue the hike towards Jagat which is the destination for the day. A few ups and downs will lead us till Tatopani a natural hot spring. Crossing the bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River, we will reach the landslide area and walking slowly towards Dobhan. Furthermore, we will hike through the waterfall, rock fall area and then the stone trail will lead us to Jagat where we will be spending overnight at.

Day 06: Trek to Lokpa (2240m)

Trekking Hours: 6-7 Hours

Early in the morning if the weather is clear great view of Sringi Himal can be viewed. We will pass through the MCAP check point before moving forward. We will follow the river route and trek through the stone steps crossing over the suspension bridges until we reach Philim. Philim is a large village of the area inhabited by the Gurung community. You can also visit Chhyoling Sandu Gumba on the way.  After hiking for few more hours, we will cross the MCAP check point, a village of Ekal Bhatti and a waterfall until we reach Lokpa where we will be staying overnight at one of the lodges.

Day 07: Trek to Chumling (2386m) 
Meals included: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Trekking Hours: 5-6 Hours

Today, we will start the trek crossing over the suspension bridge over the Lungwa Khola and further pass through the Sarti Gorge. We will continue trekking, on the way we will pass through the rock fall trail and reach Gumling. After crossing a final suspension bridge over the Siyar River, we will reach Chumling where we will also get a chance to explore Chumling Gompa as well as the village. We will be staying at one of the local lodge in Chumling.

Day 08: Trek to Chhokang Paro (3031m) 
Meals included:
Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Trekking Hours: 4-5 Hours

We shall start hiking and explore the Gompas and monasteries of the area and then further trek towards Chhokang Paro crossing the various small villages of the Tsum Valley Trek. We will walk towards Gho village and further couple of hours of uphill hike will bring us to Chhokang paro. Rest of the day can be spent exploring the surroundings. Overnight at a local lodge.

Day 09: Trek to Nile (3361m) 
Meals included: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Trekking Hours: 4-5 Hours

After having breakfast, we will start the trek towards Nile. We will explore Galdang Gompa and further trek to Lama Gaon crossing over the suspension bridge. We will furthermore walk pass the Rachen Gompa. Rachen Gomba is the female equivalent of the main Kathmandu Kopan Monastery, which is also the school of monks and nuns to study Buddhism and Tibetan language. After crossing the suspension bridge over the Shiar Khola we will reach Lar village where you can see the local culture as well as learn the traditions of Buddhism. Crossing the micro hydro power, an upstream hike, and more of the suspension bridges we will finally reach a beautiful village of Nile. We shall spend overnight at the lodge in Nile.

Day 10: Excursion to Mu Gompa (3700m) and trek back to Nile (3361m) 
Meals included: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Trekking Hours: 5-6 Hours

Today we will be trekking towards Mu Gompa. After crossing the suspension bridge, we will be walking across the Gonhgye Gompa and also through the mani walls until we reach Mu Gompa which is the destination of the day. We can spend the rest of the day exploring the surrounding area. We can explore the Dhepu Doma Nunnery Gompa, Dhorma Tuwa cave of the area. Later, we will trek back to Nile. We will be spending the night at the lodge in Nile.

Day 11: Trek to Chumling (2386m) 
Meals included:
Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Trekking Hours: 5-6 Hours

After having an early breakfast and also exploring the area, we will take a descend and retrace our way back. While we are on the way back, we can have a few stopovers at the places that have missed out while moving up. An short detour to the Milarepa Cave also known as the pigeon hole cave would be a good idea. It is believed that the Buddhist saint Milarepa was supposed to have meditated in mountainous caves. After exploration we will catch up the trail that will lead us back to Chhokang Paro and further trek to Chumling which is our destination for the day. We shall be staying at one of the available lodge for the night.

Day 12: Trek to Philim (1570m)

Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Trekking Hours: 5-6 Hours

Today, we shall start the day trekking through the rock fall area, Sarti gorge, different villages, towards Philim. While on your way, you will also encompass with the lush green forest trekking further down you will also come across the water fall as well as many suspension bridges until we reach Philim. We shall stay at the available lodge for the night.

Day 13: Trek to Khorlabesi (970m) 
Meals included:
Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Trekking Hours: 6-7 hours

Today we shall follow the descending trail along the Budhi Gandaki River, until we reach Jagat. From Jagat, we will further walk down the stone paved stairs till Yaruphant and the normal trail to Tatopani. We can take the short break and relax for a while at the Tatopani which is a small natural hot spring. We shall further continue walking down to Kholabesi for the overnight stay.

Day 14: Trek to Sotikhola (700m) 
Meals included: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Trekking Hours: 6-7 hours

We Begins trekking in descending trail after passes the villages such as Macchakhola, Khanibeshi and Lapubesi, trail along the bank of the Budhi Gandaki River. After crossing the final suspension bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River, we will finally reach Soti Khola. Overnight at a local lodge in Sotikhola.

Day 15: Drive Sotikhola  (700m) to Arughat (608m) and drive to Kathmandu (1400m)
Meals included: Breakfast/ Dinner
Trekking Hours: 10 hours

Early morning we will catch up a local bus to Arughat which will take around 2 hours approximately. We shall further catch a local bus that will lead us to Kathmandu. The estimated time to reach Kathmandu is around 7-8 hours of bus ride under normal road condition.

In the evening you will be met by our sales representative who will host a farewell dinner at one of the finest restaurants in Thamel. At the moment you can share your experiences as well as your feedbacks. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 16: Depart Kathmandu
Meals included: Breakfast

Today is the last day of your trip with us. You can extend your trip for one or two days to visit other interesting places in and out of Kathmandu which is completely optional. If not then our staff will escort you to the airport as per your scheduled departure. You can roam around the city and buy souvenir shopping to take along with you if your flight is scheduled during late hours.

We have prepared the trip departure dates in small groups departure for group fun and enjoyment trekking. Our group size start from 2 peoples (Even for solo travelers, we organize single trip on supplement cost of US$- 200 additional) and maximum group size will be 8-10 travelers. But in general, our every date will have small groups of 4- 6 peoples, which is good group size for safe and flexible & comfortable trekking.
