  • Group Size During Trek

Trekking in Nepal is regarded as rewarding experience for the nature lovers. In our featured website products, we generally run the trip with the minimum of 2 persons in a group. The given program is just a suggested itinerary which can be customized as per the client’s preference.  However, if you would like to travel independently, or with your friends, families for any number of people we would be happy to arrange a personalized trip only for you in your suitable period of time.

We also arrange TREKS FOR SINGLE WOMAN. If none of our fixed group departure dates work for you and you do not have anyone to accompany you, you can still be able to make your preferred trip with us. There is absolutely nothing to worry about making it solo trip. We assign local guide, porters etc who you can trust your life with.

Normally for a group, we provide 1 main guide, 1 assistance guide along with 1 porter for every 2 trekkers. Moreover, for every additional 2 trekkers, 1 more assistance and a porter will be provided.

  • Trek Guides and staff.

For trekking, we provide local experienced trek guide who can communicate well with the guests and explain well about the trails, customs and traditions of the local community living in the area. The role of the trek leader is to ensure that the trip runs smoothly. He will share their local knowledge, co-ordinate the day to day running of the tour. If you have any problems on the tour, please let your Trek Leader know so that steps can be taken to put it right.

We are a well stabilized adventure company and we employed professional trek leader (who are based on English speaking and few are multi-lingual's) and required crew member (they have basic knowledge of communication). We also provide the training to our staff increasing their work efficiency. And our guides are intimately familiar with all local castes and customs along the trails and will share with you many cultural insights that are not covered in any guide book. You will have good chance to learn Nepali phrases, cultural things and more on your Trekking. Nepal Vision trained its guide/trekking staff on following course.

  • Trekking Guide Training & licensed- Government of Nepal, Ministry of Tourism & Civil Aviation department of Hotel Management & Tourism Training Centre
  • Eco Trekking Workshop & Adventure Meet TAAN (Trekking Agents Association of Nepal)
  • Intensive Wilderness First Aid KEEP (Kathmandu Environmental Educational Project)
  • English Language KEEP
  • Conservation & Biodiversity TAAN
  • Rock & Ice Climbing & Mountaineering (Climbing leaders) Nepal Mountaineering Association
  • Trip safety

Once, you confirm your trip, it is our responsibility to make your trip wonderful without creating any difficulties. Hence, we have prepared our itinerary in such a way that it will properly acclimatize you. Also, we request you in advance to have regular exercises and make habits to walk in a daily basis. Similarly, during trek, you will be fully guided by our professional trekking guides and supporting team. They are properly trained in regards to safety and first aid. Even, we have every set up in case of emergency such as high altitude medicine and Gammow Bag (High altitude Chamber bag). Please note High altitude Chamber Bag is used to provide heat in your body and it is available on certain cost. Moreover, to let you familiar with altitude, you are suggested to walk slow and steady and ensure for proper acclimatization.

  • Climate and weather condition during trek

Weather in the mountains is extremely unpredictable. The nights are generally cooler and the days are warm. Winter (January and February) will be bit colder but the days can be quite beautiful and warm if the sun is out. There will be bit of snow during the month of January, February and December. It is also important to make sure that you can stay warm and dry in just about any conditions. Expect the unexpected!

Everest Base Camp trek is likely to have a wide range of temperatures depending on the altitude and the time of day. In the mountains up to 3,500m the nights will be cool, normally around 5 degree C, and during the day temperatures sometimes rise to 25 degree C. At higher altitudes temperatures range from about 20 degree C to -15 degree C.

  • Permits and Fees

In Nepal, you most require permits and fees to enter a certain areas such as World heritage sites, National Park, restricted areas along climbing as well. All the trip prices are including the cost of relevant permits and entrance fees. In case of any such conditions we will inform you if required any additional permit fees before you make a booking with us.

  • Travel Insurance

While travelling to Nepal, you are requested to have a travel insurance that should cover any comprehensive expenses possible to acquire due to medical issues or accidents. Especially, your travel insurance must protect air ambulance, treatment charges, rescue and evacuation, product cancellation and refundable charges, flight delay and cancellations. We suggest you to bring you travel insurance certificate or send us scan copy and required to issue from your home land and we do not arrange or sell insurance.

Travelling in the Himalayas is full of adventurous; hence it is wise to choose a proper insurance policy. While choosing your insurance policy, make sure that it will protect all such unforeseen expenses. Your insurer should be well familiar with our itinerary that you have booked and must have agreed to cover all activities being undertaken during trip. Meantime, it is not compulsory that our all the assigned trip are facilities with Heli-rescue. You will not require heli rescue insurance for Tibet Tour as it is not possible to provide such facility.

  • Altitude Mountain sickness

AMS is the abbreviation for Acute Mountain sickness also termed as the High Altitude Sickness. AMS is one of the challenges that the trekkers/ climbers might face during their climb in the mountains. As you reach higher in the altitude the oxygen level gradually decreases. If a person tries to climb too quickly then there is a higher chance of getting AMS. The major symptoms of AMS is headache, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, tiredness, difficulty in sleeping. However, AMS can be avoided by using some precautionary measures such as drinking plenty of water, eating enough food and walking in the steady pace. Our experienced guides who have been working in the Himalayas will help and instruct you for further measures.

Classic Outdoor will provide a well-qualified and experienced guide who has a good knowledge about AMS as they can recognize the early symptoms and advise medications for instant relief. We have designed our trips in such a way that the clients get full acclimatization and proper rest. You will also be provided with a Gamow bag upon request at an additional charge which is considered a major gear to reduce the effect of AMS. In the worst case scenario, we shall arrange a rescue and evacuation using a helicopter whose cost should be covered by your travel insurance.

  • Acclimatization

We are experts at operating at high-altitude. Every trip we run has a realistic acclimatization programme. Our treks are designed to allow gradual height gain, spread over a number of days. There is no way of predicting who will suffer from altitude but, for the vast majority of people, a slow ascent to height will produce minimal effects. We can provide 'Gamow Bag' as a precautionary measure as per your request on hiring basis. Acclimatizing takes time and there are no safe shortcuts. All trips to altitudes in excess of 3,000 meters carry medicines essential to the treatment of altitude illness, and our leaders are trained to administer them and to know the symptoms.

  • Physical Fitness

We strongly recommend our clients for consulting the doctor before planning your holidays. You should obtain professional advice from a travel clinic or your local GP about which vaccinations to have before you arrive in Nepal. Your doctor will advise current inoculation requirements. If a doctor has recommended against travel or indicated travel may be inconvenient then inform us of the details. On all trekking and exploratory trips technical experience is not required, hiking/camping experience is an advantage, but by far the most important thing is a positive attitude and a generous amount of determination. We strictly maintain hygiene foods on the trek. We carry extensive medical kits and, if the need should ever arise, we are able to evacuate seriously ill group members by helicopter. We run regular first aid courses for our all trekking guides and Sherpa helpers.

Mr. Jason Elliot (Australian) along with his family of 4 took the 15 days Everest Base Camp Trek as featured in our website http://www.theclassicoutdoors.com/nepal/trekking/everest-base-camp-trek-15-days last year. Here is what they have to say, “We arrived Kathmandu on 20th of September 2015 where we were welcomed by the staff of Classic Outdoors with a garland of marigold flower. On the way to our hotel, we learned our first Nepali word ‘Namaste’ which literally meant “the divine in me salutes the divine in you”. We went to Pashupatinath and Boudhanath along with Patan Durbar area. It was great to see that people of different religions stay together in peace and harmony. The palace area was beautiful, the traditional buildings and handicrafts attracted me the most. The next day be board a flight to Lukla, which was the gateway to our destination. We saw various Himalayan ranges from the flight but the most exhilarating part was the landing at one of the most dangerous airport in the world. However, our pilot was very experienced and had a very safe landing. Namchebazar was other highlights of the trip. We were amazed that there were many shops, restaurants, hotels etc that could entertain any one. The people of the region were so polite and hospitable. The trek continued for days where we enjoyed the views of the mountains, landscape and the local culture as we stayed at different villages. The accomplishment of the trek was on day 10 when we reached Kalapattar at an altitude of 5550 meter which was also the highest altitude of the trek. We had a very nice time in Nepal. All the people that we met were very friendly and we look forward to our next trip to Nepal very soon”.

Last autumn, two of our clients’ Mr. Arved Weers & Mr. Martin Korn from Germany had a trek to Everest Base Camp with The Classic Outdoors. When I learned about the deadly earthquake that occurred, I was very devastated. However, I am glad that even after the tragic event people of Nepal are still fighting back and working their level best to provide the best possible service. I had a really awesome time during the trek to the base camp. The views of the mountains made me spell bounded. I enjoyed every bit of the time spent on the mountains and would certainly look forward to the next possible trip.

Once-in-a-lifetime Everest Base Camp Trek

Rating:

My friend and I joined a fixed departure tour along with 6 other trekkers, through Classic Outdoors, for an adventure trekking to EBC and Kala Patthar we both enjoyed so much we want to do it again!!
Our adventure started in Mar 2017. Our 15 days package include the first night in Kathmandu. We went for the trek immediately a day later we arrived in Kathmandu. The whole trek was carefully planned by the organizer Kritee. Our trek guide Jivan and second in charge Giri were flawless in their care of duty and attention to details. There were many highlights on the trek but the standout was reaching Kala Patthar, at 5545m, to catch Everest at sunrise- stunning!
We were able to enjoy this trek as much as we enjoy sightseeing tour of Kathmandu after the trek. This was a trip of a lifetime...and I hope to do it again.

My experience with Classic Outdoors has been amazing from the very beginning till the end! From answering my numerous questions before the trip to being incredibly flexible in the schedule while we were trekking, the team has indeed exceeded my expectations in providing excellent customer service. Our guide Dipendra was also very helpful and entertained us with his excellent knowledge of the country/culture and even taught us several Nepali games! All in all, Classic is definitely a reliable trekking company and if you’re looking for guides to the Himalayas, look no further!

Trek to Everest Base Camp, Nepal

Rating:

I always wanted to visit Everest Base Camp since many years. I got in contact with Kritee and she offered me the best offer and best price that I could have asked for. From the very beginning, this trek offered exactly what they promised. We met our trek leader, Dipendra and porter Laxman at hotel and lukla respectively. The trek was thoroughly explained and gears was handed over at the hotel itself. We were then taken to a cultural dinner which included traditional Nepalese food and dancing. The food and accommodation was of a lot higher standard than I expected. Our trip leader and support staff were excellent. Dipendra provided us with a great deal of knowledge about the history of Everest and showed a great deal of excitement when we were first able to view the summit we had an amazing journey without any significant issues. The information given to us prior to our trek was absolutely spot on with what to expect. The only negatives I could point out was that the little extras such as buying water, showers, and electricity can all add up so take extra cash for these incidentals. These prices are of course out of control of the trekking group. The tipping at the end can also be expensive. I would definitely recommend this trekking company to anyone.

Amazing EBC Trek (Sep)

My friend and I booked Classic Outdoors for our trek to Everest Base Camp. We were very much excited for the trek and wanted to be at the base camp desperately. All the excitement was over once the flight got cancelled due to the bad weather condition at Lukla. We returned back to hotel and flew to Lukla the next day. Fortunately the weather was good that day. Then the journey towards the dream destination started. We were more than happy to see the Himalayas and the people along the trek. It was an amazing experience to be there. The guide and the porter were great. They wouldn't cease to amaze us with their knowledge of the mountain trails, and perhaps they knew every rock along the way. Their honesty and humility has left us with fond memories of Nepal and of course some good friends. The only suggestion I would like to give is spare at least a couple of days after the trek as you never know the weather condition. Rest will be taken care by the company and the team.

We felt so lucky to have met Kritee and her team. We were extremely skeptical about the whole process but I can honestly say it could not had not gone any better for us. kritee’s friendly, professional nature made our trip was organized to perfection. We were able to meet our guide beforehand on a dinner organized by the company as a welcome gesture to make us comfortable. The EBC trek itself was faultless, our guide Om, was an absolute star. Even during the trek, kritee was in constant touch with us via phone. On the last day of trek we had a great celebration. Once we were back to Kathmandu the very next day we went for the cultural sightseeing tour which was awesome. Within a period of less than 24 hours, we got to see a huge diversity in terms of culture in Kathmandu and in Everest. I was amazed. I am planning to return to Nepal, and will definitely be using the company again.

Without a doubt, the best travel experience I've had!

My partner and I went to Nepal in March. We had heard about Classic Outdoors online. I was so happy we did because they were friendly and professional from the beginning and gave us all the information we needed to plan our trip. We were planning on hiking for a period of 2 weeks, so we wanted to be sure about our route, places to stay, food etc. and Classic Outdoors was able to give us recommendations about all of these things. When we arrived, our guide picked us up from the airport, got us a place to stay, then Kritee whom we had a lot of conversation back home came to meet us and gave us a brief information about the trekking. We then went for a dinner hosted by the company. That was a memorable gesture and we got to know more about the trek and the guide.

We started our hike immediately the next day and it didn't take long to realize that we had made the right choice for trekking companies. Our guide Dipendra and tsering were both fabulous and they always made sure we were ok with decisions. We played cards together in the evenings and joked around a lot. After such a great experience with Classic Outdoors and making friends with our guide. I dream of coming back again in the future and still keep in touch with the guide and the team.

We highly recommend this company.

The children had some difficulty in walking but the guide Jivan and porters Ram, Sudhan, and Bir were a great support. They made sure that each and every one of us. The entire trip was fantastic; I can't even say enough good things about it. Our children absolutely loved them and still talk about him and that trip all the time. At the end of each day of trekking our rooms would be ready for us with our luggage there, he would assist us with ordering dinner, and often he and the other guides and porters would play cards with all for the entertainment. We had a great time and we look forward to visit Nepal again for our next holiday.
