Classic Outdoors offers a stunning yet adventurous journey to the most fascinating place of Annapurna and Manang Region. The trek provides an opportunity to cross one of the highest pass i.e. Thorung La Pass along with witnessing the breathtaking scenario of Tilicho Lake.

Annapurna Region is one of the famous preferred trekking destination for the adventure seekers from around the globe. The adventurous journey starts with a bus ride to Besisahar and then to a drive to chame which is also the trek starting point for the trip. While on a trek you will be passing through the beautiful river river valleys of Marshyangdi and Kaligandaki rivers. The area is mostly accommodated by the Gurungs, Tamangs and the Sherpa communities of the country. On a clear day, you will get a chance to take the glimpse of the magnificent peaks such as Hiunchuli, Manaslu, Annapurna I, II and II, Machhapuchre, Nilgiri, Lamjung Himal, Tukuche from different places. An excursion to Tilicho Lake is one of the major highlights of the trek. Thorung La pass which is considered as the highest pass, as well as the highest point of the trek, can be one of the major highlights of the trek. On your way to Jomsom, you will also visit Muktinath which is one of the major pilgrimage sites for Hindus and Buddhists.

Day 01:    Arrive at Kathmandu International Airport, transfer to Hotel (Altitude: 1350/4428 ft. Meal: Dinner)

Day 02:    Drive to Besisahar (Altitude: 760 m/ 2510 ft. Drive: 8-9 hrs. – bus/ 6 hrs. – Jeep Meal: BLD)

Day 03:    Jeep drive to Chame (Stopover for acclimatization) (Altitude: 2670 m/8810 ft. Drive: 7/8 hrs. - local bus Meal: BLD)

Day 08:    Excursion to Tilicho Lake, back to Tilicho Base Camp/Khangsar village (Altitude: 5200m/17056ft, Trek: 6 to 7 hrs. Meal: BLD)

Day 09:    Trek Khansar Village to Yak Kharka (Altitude: 4010m/13153ft, Trek: 4-5 hrs. Meal: BLD)

Day 10:    Trek Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (Altitude: 4,600m/15,092ft. Trek: 5-6 hrs. Meal: BLD)

Day 11:    Trek to Muktinath (3,800m) via Thorung La pass (5,416m) - 8 hrs (Altitude: Thorung-la Pass: 5416 m/ 17873 ft. Muktinath: 3800 m/12540 ft. Trek: 7-8 hrs. Meal: BLD)\

Day 12:    Trek Muktinath to Jomsom (Altitude: 2720 m/ 8976 ft. Trek: 5-6 hrs. Meal: BLD)

Day 13:    Fly to Pokhara (Altitude: 820 m/2705 ft. Flight: 20 minutes) and Fly to Kathmandu

Day 14:    Depart Kathmandu (Altitude: 1350/4428 ft. Meal: Breakfast)

Day 01 Arrive Kathmandu International Airport, transfer to Hotel (Altitude: 1350/4428 ft. Meal: Dinner)

Our airport representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu upon your arrival. He/she will escort you to the respective hotel in a private vehicle. Your prior trip meeting will be scheduled on the very day at the hotel before dinner. However, our airport representative will give you a brief idea about the second day’s schedule on your way to the hotel. During this meeting we will introduce you to your leader/guide. Please do not hesitate to ask questions about your trek or anything that is related to your trip. To make you feel comfortable, we host a welcome dinner for you in a popular restaurant in the city where you can enjoy authentic Nepali meal along with cultural programs including ethnic dance and songs. Tonight, will be spent at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Drive to Besisahar (Altitude: 760 m/ 2510 ft. Drive: 8-9 hrs. – bus/ 6 hrs. – Jeep Meal: BLD)

After having an early breakfast at your hotel, you will be driving to Besisahar which is your trek starting point. Our trek guide will be at your hotel’s lobby who will then escort you to the local bus station for your journey to Besisahar. You will be driving along Marshyangdi River. It will take around 7-8 ours of drive under normal road condition. You can also get a chance to see the beautiful views from the comfort of your window.

Day 03 Jeep drive to Chame (Stopover for acclimatization) (Altitude: 2670 m/8810 ft. Drive: 7/8 hrs. - local bus)

Early in the morning, you will be taking a local jeep to Chame. The road to chame is generally graveled and off route where you might experience sudden jolts and bumps. Chame is a small village where you can spend the rest of the day exploring the village.

Day 04 Trek Chame to Pisang (Altitude: 3200 m/10524 ft. Trek: 5- 6 hours Meal: BLD)

Today, you will have a steep walk through dense forest into a narrowed valley. Crossing the raging Himalayan River at two points 2,910m & 3,040m are absolute highlights of the trek. Just crossing a suspension bridge at 3040m, the stunning view of Rocky Hill Paungda Danda feasts catch by the eyes. Beyond here, the course connects towards Pisang on a steep trail. Pisang, nestles between 3,200m and 3,300meters.

Day 05 Trek Pisang to Manang, Overnight at local lodge (Altitude: 3400 m/11152 ft. Trek: 5 to 6 hrs.)

After breakfast, you will walk towards Manang. Manang is basically a small and beautiful village that has been playing an important role in our history. While trekking from Pisang to Manang, you will come across age old gompa’s and monasteries that depicts the art and architecture of the history. Some of the old gompa’s that you can visit on the way are Shey Gompa and Braga Gompa. You will also cross through the mani walls in which the Buddhist’s mantras are carved and painted in the big stones.

Day 06: Rest day at Manang for acclimatization (Altitude: 3400 m/11152 ft.)

Since, you have reached to a higher altitude you would require some rest and get used to the altitude. The day is kept spare for you to acclimatize in the environment. We would suggest you to spare the rest of the day exploring the nearby areas rather than staying at the lodge. You can go nearby Gangapurna glacier or visit the Manang village, Gompas and cave exploring native people and culture.

Day 07: Short Trek to Khansar Village (Altitude: 3734 m/12322 ft. Treks: 2 to 3 hrs.)

Today, is the short day for trekking as you will be heading towards Khangsar village which will only take around 2-3 hours of hiking. While on the way, you will get a chance to glance the picturesque view of Tilicho Peak along with the beautiful Annapurna range. You will cross a small settlements and monastery and pass along the Khangsar river and a wall taking you to Khangsar.

Day 08: Excursion to Tilicho Lake, back to Tilicho Base Camp/Khangsar village (Altitude: 5200m/17056ft, Trek: 6 to 7 hrs.)

Today, you will be going to visit Tilicho Lake for the excursion tour. Tilicho Lake is situated at an altitude of 4920 meters above the sea level. It is one of the major highlights of the trek. It is one of the best mountain lake that are known to the geographers that is caused by the glacial activity. You can spend couple of hours exploring the area and capturing some of the best photographs. After the exploration, you will be tracing back your footsteps towards Tilicho Base Camp from where you will get the best view of Tikicho Lake, Nilgiri. You will further hike back to Khangsar which will be the destination of the day.

Day 09: Trek Khansar Village to Yak Kharka (Altitude: 4010m/13153ft, Trek: 4-5 hrs.)

After having an early breakfast, you will be trekking towards Yak Kharka which is the destination of the day.  After crossing a wooden suspension bridge from Khangsar you will lead towards the Yak Kharka. It is a place where Yaks are left for grazing. While on the trail, you will come across the mani wall. The land is covered with spars bushes in this region. From here, you can have outstanding views of Annapurna III. Stay overnight at local lodge.

Day 10 Trek Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (Altitude: 4,600m/15,092ft. Trek: 5-6 hrs. Meal: BLD)

Today we will head towards Thorang Phedi from Yak Kharka. The trail to Thorang Phedi is easy in the beginning but it gets tougher as we walk for an hour. There are some tea shops for light refreshments. From this point we will have to walk through challenging cliffs to reach Thorang Phedi.

Day 11: Trek to Muktinath (3,800m) via Thorung La pass (5,416m) - 8 hrs (Altitude: Thorung-la Pass: 5416 m/ 17873 ft. Muktinath: 3800 m/12540 ft. Trek: 7-8 hrs.)

Today after an early breakfast you will be trekking towards Muktinath crossing world’s largest pass- The Thorong-la pass. It is the most exciting and adventurous part of the whole trek. 3-4 hours of steep strenuous trek from the high camp brings you to the top of Thorung La Pass 5416m. The regular course to Thorung La Pass seems easy. However, a number of difficulties might encounter due to the elevation and snow. Getting up to the pass may be tough but the acme of the pass marked by revered chortens and colorful prayer flags will reward you with the most eye-catching views of Himalayas that include Annapurna at its best.

Day 12: Trek Muktinath to Jomsom (Altitude: 2720 m/ 8976 ft. Trek: 5-6 hrs. Meal: BLD)

Today you will descend down the dramatic Kali Gandaki valley, initially through arid country in the same geographical and climatic zone as Tibet. After passing through Jharkot and Khingar, villages with typical Tibetan architecture, we follow the valley floor most of the way to Jomsom. En-route, you get the opportunity to view the tremendous views of both Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri. Jomsom is a large town sprawled along both banks of the Kali Gandaki River, and it is here we will spend the final night of our trek.

Day 13: Fly to Pokhara, (Altitude: 820 m/2705 ft. Flight: 20 minutes). Connecting flight to Kathmandu

We take an early morning flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. It is a spectacular flight along the Kali Gandaki Gorge and provides wonderful views of both the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. Rest of the day at leisure in Pokhara.

Once you are at Pokhara, you will be taking a connecting flight to Kathmandu which will take you approximately 25 minutes of flying hours

Day 14: Depart Kathmandu (Altitude: 1350/4428 ft. Meal: Breakfast)

This is the last day of your trip with us. You can extend your trip for one or two days to visit other interesting places in and out of Kathmandu which is completely optional. If not then one of our staff will escort you to the airport as per your scheduled departure. You can roam around the city and buy souvenirs’ and do shopping to take along with you if your flight is scheduled during late hours.

We have prepared the trip departure dates in small groups departure for group fun and enjoyment trekking. Our group size start from 2 peoples (Even for solo travelers, we organize single trip on supplement cost of US$- 200 additional) and maximum group size will be 8-10 travelers. But in general, our every date will have small groups of 4- 6 peoples, which is good group size for safe and flexible & comfortable trekking.
