Porter Care

Porters are also one of the major part of our support staffs. Without them, it would have been much difficult for us to arrange the trekking arrangements smoothly. We ensure that all the porters from our support crew are treated well and paid well too so that we help them support their family. Before starting the trek, we make sure that they get required level of shelter, clothing and footwear that these harsh environments demand. We try to assign the porters from the local areas as far as possible. Porters who become sick are treated with the same care and attention as other team members. We have previously used helicopters at company's expense to rescue porters from dangerous situations. And for the porter's sake, all trekkers keep the weight of their luggage under 15kgs/33 pounds. We also support the work of International Porter Protection Group (IPPG), making our resources available to them to help improve the working conditions of the porters.
